1. Introduction
Thanks for joining in and being part of the NAS community. If you are new to NAS or looking for another build, or simply just keeping up to date then stay tuned for plenty of Research, Tutorials, and many Pictures through the different step of designing and building a DIY NAS.

So to be totally clear I’m going to assume that some of you know next to nothing about NAS and even more, know very little about how to build a computer.
I will try to add as many details as I can and of course anyone who feels free to comment can help as well. Feel free to ask questions or ask for help with your own build. If the community grows large enough then considerations to separate content into two section will be made. One for everyone new to NAS (What to do and How to do it) and another for advanced enthusiasts which will be more centered on what to do.
It is slow and hard researching NAS builds but faster with AI. For those of you have done a lot of research through AI would have found that it likes to give you the answers you want to hear and even trick you into believing that you have chosen all of the right things you need. If not then let this be a warning, check, check and double check in a different way. You’d be surprised how data can suddenly change. Personally I have come close to making disastrous choices which would have cost me a lot of money buying things I couldn’t actually use. Knowing what to ask and how to ask for it is the key and that comes with experience. Hence here we are and by no means will I admit to being an expert an any field, even if I have all the required knowledge. We are all always learning and the NAS environment changes over time too.
Finally, before I continue, I want to clarify that I will not assume any personal responsibility for anything that may not function as intended for you. I’m not instructing you to replicate my actions exactly. Instead, my aim is to demonstrate how this build was constructed from beginning to end, so the decision to follow along is entirely up to you.
Lets get into it – Research around what I wanted to achieve…
